At The Ikier Osteofitness™ and Massage Therapies, we offer advanced massage therapy for pain and stiffness. With an integrative approach using a variety of hands-on therapies, we can correct your posture and improve your gait. For stress reduction, we offer hot stone, myofascial release, pre and post-natal and shiatsu therapies. Reiki, a light touch massage for healing, will relax and rejuvenate while balancing your energy. Here at Ikier Osteofitness™ and Massage Therapies, we also practice a centuries old technique called body tapping. Body tapping will promote organ health, provide instant energy, improve the immune system and increase circulation. Using these varied techniques and therapies, we can set you on the path to a pain and stress free life.

Pain is subjective; everyone has a different pain threshold. At Ikier Osteofitness™ and Massage Therapies, every client’s pain level is identified and considered. Each treatment plan is designed to meet client’s needs.
The treatment plan is discussed with client’s short term and long term goals, then collaboratively established. Suggestions for home care are demonstrated and written out at the end of each session.
In today’s society, busy people need “stress busters” (stretching, ergonomic checks, breathing, etc.) that can be incorporated into their day. When finding “extra time” is impossible during the day, The Ikier Center recommends a “stress tip” that fits into your day (i.e., “desk” breaks, “car” breaks, “stairs are for stretching,” “ergo checks”). These stimulate “the relaxation response,” and subsequently, the whole body relaxes.
It has become clear that Massage and Touch Therapy are rapidly moving to the forefront of health care, both nationally and internationally. Published studies support the positive effects of touch on the nervous, hormonal and immune systems for the relief of pain, muscular tension and stress. Therefore, it has become an integral part of The Ikier Center’s treatment plans. In addition, her treatment plans include techniques taken from Yoga, Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique and Imagery for Healing.
For five years, Ms. Ikier was certified with the Arthritis Foundation to instruct the Arthritis Aquatics program. This work was very motivational, as she constantly saw people beginning to work without walkers, canes and pain after just a few weeks in the pool doing very “joint friendly” exercises. Although Ms. Ikier is no longer working in water, she has modified all exercises to be “joint friendly.”
